87 year old Fairfield resident, John W. Reeves passed away at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield, Illinois on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
John was born on October 28, 1936 in rural Burnt Prairie area in White County, Illinois to Frank W. and Mary Addie (Duckworth) Reeves. He married Eva Mae Jeffers on September 21, 1959, celebrating 63 years of marriage. Eva Mae preceded him in death in 2023.
John and Eva Mae moved to Winston Salem, North Carolina in 1971 where he was the Regional Manager for IMC. After retiring, they moved back to Fairfield in 1997. John was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Fairfield where he had served as an elder. John was the chairman of the building committee at the time when the newest addition was added to the church building. He also served as a trustee at Lincoln Christian University. John later married June Ivers Gray in Fairfield.
